We work exclusively with a family-owned farm in Kirishima, Japan, where the soil is revered and the craftsmanship is unmatched! The grounds are mineralized every night with volcanic ashes from the active volcano, Sakurajima across the water of Kagoshima. Our partners – a 5th-generation Tea Farmer and a 4th-generation Tea Sommelier – are recognized as Japan’s foremost authorities in organic tea cultivation and traditional Matcha artistry. Together, they cultivate proprietary varietals found nowhere else in Japan, crafting matcha that is rare as it is remarkable.
This isn’t just a partnership – it is a rare and deeply rooted collaboration built on trust, tradition, and mutual passion. We have spent time together both in Japan during harvest season and here at Got Matcha in California, where we continue to innovate while honoring time-honored techniques.

Meet the Founder:Rebekah
I’m Rebekah Ball, the founder of Got Matcha – a holistic nutritionist and herbalist, mother, and matcha specialist with over 27 years of experience. My matcha journey began when I was introduced to it at the age of 19, while dealing with IBS and hormone issues. After being introduced to ceremonial matcha from one my herbalogy teachers, my life and health transformed after only 1 month of drinking it daily! 29 years later, I have only skipped 2 days of matcha and that was to give birth!! Matcha has continued to work with my body keeping me youthful, less-stressed, focused and energized to keep up with my teenage boys!
I was among the very first to bring authentic Japanese matcha to the United States in the 1990’s, long before it became a global trend. Matcha is not just an ingredient – it’s a way of life. Overthe years, I’ve developed more than 20 signature blends, bars and protein-basedmeals using our top-tier ceremonial matcha and the highest quality organicingredients from around the world. Every creation reflects my belief in food asfunctional, beautiful, and healing.
